Alles is grijs

“Everything is grey” 

Oohh, do you know those days? Those gray, dreary, typical Dutch winter days? I love them! I looove the Dutch seasons. 

This canvas represents autumn transitioning into winter for me. People move indoors more, the streets become quieter, candles can be lit, red wine, a blanket on the couch. Delightfully cozy. By combining warm beige tones with gray areas, I’ve tried to capture this same feeling. The canvas has plenty of layers, which is also necessary when winter begins in the Netherlands ;-).
