Verlies, rouw en verdriet

“Loss, grief and sadness” 

Oeff, this is quite a dark triptych, isn’t it? Life isn’t always just a party. There’s a dark side too. And even though I haven’t experienced much loss relatively, I can still feel sad and gloomy. 

This triptych represents a few people I’ve lost – a good friend from the past, my grandfathers, and the miscarriage I had. These events put life into perspective; the dark times also shed light on things that you may have previously taken for granted. Sometimes, grieving, crying, and screaming provide relief to face things with fresh courage again. And did you know that true black doesn’t actually exist? There’s always some reflection of light necessary to show color!
