“Beach hair”

This diptych is inspired by the beach. With two aunts who live close to the beach and a mother who loves long beach walks, we, as a family, spent a lot of time at the beach. The beach wasn’t just around the corner, but we often combined it with a visit to our cousins. It didn’t have to be summer for our visit to the beach. “Refreshing breeze,” my mother would call it.I loved it. Strolling along the shore, especially searching for beautiful shells to take home for my collection, only to have to catch up with the rest afterward. 

The colors and texture in this diptych symbolize those walks on the beach for me. And if you look closely, you’ll see that even the sand is incorporated into it.
