Chaos

“Chaos” 

Quite a mess, isn’t it, this painting? Chaos, that’s the name of this painting. 

This canvas symbolizes the period after my student life when I didn’t really know what to do. I had just one year of work experience but didn’t feel fulfilled. I lived together with my then-boyfriend, with whom I had been together for about 11 years at that time, in Amsterdam, but towards the end, our relationship wasn’t going well. It felt messy and off. Eventually, my relationship ended, and I really had to reinvent myself. My second job, as a project manager at Frisse Blikken, was challenging, and I had to work hard for it. 

It was a time when I went out a lot late into the night and still had to perform the next day. Chaotic and a bit messy, just like this canvas.
